"I want my paintings to act as a window to the natural world. It's only through awareness that we
will begin to understand and appreciate the spectacles that go on all around us."

Born in Sweden in 1973, Carina started to travel extensively in her late teens. It was the fantastic
wildlife and scenery of Colorado that led to painting becoming the greatest focus point in her life.
Currently living in Aviemore, Scotland, she finds ideas for her work both locally as well as further
afield, including Alaska, Africa and most recently Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.

|
Carina has a diploma in Art and Design from the University of Wales, Cardiff, but felt she would
benefit more as a wildlife artist from a degree in the natural sciences. She graduated with BSc Honours in
Conservation Biology in spring 2006 from the University of Aberdeen. Carina has worked
for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds in Abernethy Forest Reserve.
